Although I like to do all my own gluten free baking, sometimes I don’t feel like making food from scratch. Oftentimes, I don’t want to dirty more dishes, or more than likely, I’m just feeling lazy. Ever have those days?
Luckily, there are a lot of GF products, such as cookies, available on the market. The problem is you may get extra additives you’d rather not eat. That’s a compromise some of us make for the convenience of having ready-made food.
Because of this, I’m constantly on the lookout for products that not only refrain from gluten, but also meet my standards for quality. A company called Baba Joon’s Chocolate Chewies made my search for gluten free cookies easy when they contacted me about their chewies.
So here goes. Please note that although Baba Joon’s Chocolate Chewies provided me with free samples of their product, my opinions are 100% honest.

As of this writing, you can choose from over 20 different flavors.
By far, the coconut almond was my favorite chewie. What made this cookie so good is that it tasted like an Almond Joy, but without a heavy, sugary taste.
The flavors were delicate enough not to be overwhelming, and the consistency of the chewie was nice and soft. Even if you don’t particularly like coconut, give this flavor a try.
The walnut flavor was also very good. I like that the walnuts were plentiful and chopped into tiny chunks within the cookie.
The softer texture made this a delicious treat. If you enjoy brownies, you’ll enjoy this flavor a lot.
If you love apricot, this is the flavor for you. The vibrant fruity flavor mixed with chocolate is an ideal pairing.
The consistency of the apricot chewy was that of a fig newton. I happen to love fig newtons so I really enjoyed this chewie.
The orange almond chocolate chewy does not hesitate to give you one heck of a zesty, orange zing! I enjoyed the combination of almonds with the chocolate and orange, but the orange flavor was a bit too overwhelming for me.
This chewie was a bit tougher than the rest of the samples I tried. It had the consistency of a very dense candy bar. It was a little too hard for me, but others may not find this to be an issue.

These small, snack-size cookies are ideal when you have the munchies or just want a small, tasty snack. These cookies are just the right size if you want to dunk them in milk or eat them on their own.
Just a couple of the chewies were enough to make me feel full. I like that I could satisfy my sweet tooth without overdoing it.
When you try a chewie, make sure you really like all the flavors. For example, the Orange Almond cookies are heavy on the orange flavor.
